Arkansas Children's Hospital is a beautiful place for children and adults alike. Here, Brady is in the play yard that is facing the capital.
Brady was watching TV before his blood draw. Daddy is trying to have a smiley face!
We pray that the meds Brady will take are the real thing, not a placebo. The study will last till October. Better things are yet to come!!!!!!!

Autism treatment starts tomorrow

Tomorrow, Michael and I will take Brady to Arkansas Children's Hospital to start the Treating Oxidative Stress and the Metabolic Pathology of Autism study. In English, now---low levels of folic acid and glutathione has been deducted in Brady. These two things are a vital reason that Brady cannot speak. We will have to give Brady two meds a day and a shot every 3rd day. We are ready and very eager for Brady to come out from behind his communication wall.

This study is double-blinded meaning that nor we or the doctor will know if Brady is getting the real medicine or the placebo. If we do get the placebo, we will be offered the real deal after the study. Our prayer is that Brady gets the REAL DEAL!!!! I have attached two videos from the leading researcher in this study. Dr. Jill James has a passion for Autistic children and has been so open and honest with us.

Tank Oooo

Brady is now 4 years old. Yes, there is a gap between our last post and now. All because I was lazy,,,,,,,well, maybe not. When Brady turned 1, I started my master's degree and finished 2 years later. The main reason I am back is because we have been blessed with the future. On May 25th, we are beginning an Autism trial at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Brady is very high functioning but has trouble with communication, transitions, and some social issues as well. He has come a long way with the help of many caring people who love him the way he is. We are blessed!

Preliminary results from a previous trial showed many kids beginning to speak after 2 weeks! Hard part is that we will not know if Brady is given the real deal or a placebo. Nevertheless, if we are given the placebo, he will be offered the real deal in August.

If you want more info on the treatment, google: folic acid, glutathione, autism.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a great time celebrating the Fourth of July. We started off by eating some great food along with ice cream at my sister's house. Then, we headed off to the firework show. Brady did great. He didn't cry or flinch. He loved it!

Having Fun in Hot Springs

We had a great weekend in Hot Springs. These pictures were taken at Garvan Woodland Gardens. Brady hooks his fingers in his mouth and sucks away!

He did great all day, enduring all of our picture taking.

Brady and his daddy enjoyed watching the fish in the pond.

A Few Of Our Favorites!

These are a few of our favorite pictures of Brady. They were taken in the first 14 days of life.

In case you were wondering, Brady Boy is the nick-name given to Brady by his cousins!

Brady is now 14 weeks old, long and lean.

His hair is getting lighter. More and more blonde hair is growing everyday.
